Brigette T. Vanegas, PA-C

Greetings from RTR Pediatrics. My name is Brigette Vanegas, and I’d like to introduce myself and share a little of my story.

As far back as I can remember, I have always wanted to become a pediatric physician assistant (PA).  I began my studies at Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) in the fall of 2014, and during my college years, I spent more than 3,000 hours off campus gaining clinical experience in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings in preparation for applying to PA school. In May 2018, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from WCSU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology.  After graduation, I worked at RTR Pediatrics to gain experience in pediatrics. Shortly after, I entered PA school at Stony Brook University from which I graduated two years later with my Master of Science Physician Assistant degree. I am currently board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistant (AAPA).

I re-joined Dr. Paulhus and the crew at RTR Pediatrics in December 2021 after the completion of my studies to become a PA. Becoming a PA was the only career goal I ever had. I was born in Bogota, Colombia and came to the United States when I was three years old. I speak fluent English and Spanish. I grew up in Danbury, CT and during PA school I came back to Danbury to complete my pediatric Clerkship at RTR Pediatrics. I have always been passionate about helping those in need and working with children of all ages. I have envisioned myself working as a Pediatric PA ever since I was a student at Danbury High School and it fills my heart with immense joy and feel very honored to have joined the excellent RTR Pediatrics team once again! I am very excited to start my lifelong journey has a Pediatric PA-C and look forward to continuing to give back to my community.
