Immunizations

Dr. Paulhus completely believes in the safety and efficacy of vaccines to keep children healthy.  We carry all vaccines, and adhere to the recommended schedule of their administration by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. VACCINE POLICY

We believe in the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent serious illness and save lives. We believe in the safety of vaccines. We believe that all children should receive the recommended vaccines according to the schedule published by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention and the American Academy of Pediatrics. We believe that vaccines do not cause autism or other developmental disabilities. We believe that vaccinating children is an important health-promoting intervention that we perform as medical professionals. We recognize that the choice may not be easy for some parents/caregivers. Should you have doubts, please discuss them with our medical staff. Please be advised that delaying or breaking up the vaccines over time compared to the established schedule of the CDC goes against standard recommendations, and we follow those standard recommendations.

We feel very strongly that vaccinating your child on schedule with currently available vaccines is the way to protect all children.  Please feel free to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about vaccines with our medical staff.

Please review the additional information below from the State of Connecticut concerning its vaccine program, in which we participate. Thank you.

We recommend that your child receives the vaccine to prevent infection with human papillomavirus, HPV. This series should begin at age 11. See the information below.
